Free color analysis quiz: which of the 12 seasons are you?
Free color analysis online. Answer seven questions about your veins, hair, eyes and contrast — no signup, no email, no photo upload. You’ll get a rough placement on the 12-season Sci\ART system, a confidence score, and your runner-up if you sit between two seasons. For better accuracy: do it in daylight near a window.
In daylight, what color do your inner-wrist veins look?
Stand near a window with no makeup. Compare the underside of your wrist to a piece of white paper.
How this quiz works
Seasonal color analysis sorts everyone onto three axes: undertone (warm vs cool), value (light vs deep), and chroma (muted vs bright). The combination of those three gives you one of the 12 sub-seasons. Each question above contributes to one or two of these axes; your final position is matched to the closest season.
The quiz is a good starting point but it’s self-reported — the results depend on how accurately you read your own coloring under mirror light. For a precise placement that reads your actual features from a photo, take the full HueChart analysis.
Quiz FAQ
How accurate is a color season quiz?
A self-typing quiz like this one gives you a rough placement based on your answers. It’s a great starting point and gets the right family (Spring / Summer / Autumn / Winter) for most people, but exact sub-season can be hard to pin down without a photo. The result tells you which two seasons you sit between when it’s close.
What do I need to take the quiz?
Natural daylight near a window, a mirror, a piece of white paper, a pure-white shirt and a soft-cream shirt for comparison, and one piece of silver and one of gold jewelry. No camera or upload needed.
Why does the quiz ask about my veins, jewelry, and a white shirt?
These three quick tests triangulate your skin undertone — whether it pulls warm (yellow/golden) or cool (pink/blue). Together they’re more reliable than any single test.
What are the 12 color seasons?
Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter each split into three sub-seasons, for twelve total: Bright Spring, True Spring, Light Spring; Light Summer, True Summer, Soft Summer; Soft Autumn, True Autumn, Deep Autumn; Deep Winter, True Winter, Bright Winter. The system is called Sci\ART and is built on three color axes: undertone, value and chroma.
Quiz says one season but I think I’m another — what now?
Two adjacent seasons can score within a hair of each other. If the result lists your runner-up as the season you suspect, you’re probably right at the boundary. A photo-based AI analysis reads your actual coloring instead of relying on self-reported answers — that’s what HueChart does.
